Per diem...: Day 169 - June 23, 2011 →
onetimearoundthesun:
Even though I’ll be alone, I don’t really feel alone whenever I have my camera with me…
edit: @iwillshoyu What I meant wasn’t something of a future tense but one specific to when I’m shooting. Not sure if it’s because I know that whatever awesome sunset I’ll see, or whatever interesting that…

Bomberman Park
This park reminds of that classic game Bomberman. The lines, the roads, the little obstacles and people slowly walking by. And then go faster as they pick up skates. Oh wait?!….
Freedom
The scene at ala mos center before 4th of July fireworks. Kapono played a sweet version of Sailing, a little more slower and drawn out, no harmonica, just his voice and guitar, capoed on a higher fret. Perfect.
Sparkly
50mm macro, manual mode. Maybe had a little too much fun post editing it hah.
Cute-Sad Robot
Machines can have feelings too. Just look at this pic and also movie iRobot.
Merry Xmas
Inherited a lil xmas dec on computer monitor. Left it be I did, as I always thought it good to be xmassy all year long, that is, merry, giving, and kind. Xmas everyday!
Work n Play, Fly Away
Today, work took me to a whole new place. Kamehame Ridge. Can’t really describe how magnificent the view was. There were hang gliders and a helicopter below us. We were Zephyrs, flying away…

Keepin It Real
Interesting day at new job. A meeting took place at “The Clubhouse” to help them figure how and what to fix and renovate given certain time/money parameters. The Clubhouse serves as a training/activity center for those released from an institution. They get around 90 trainees per day, at a facility built in 1950’s, poor pavement and drainage and leaks and somewhat dangerously...
From A Distance..
..paintbrushed clouds.
OMG r U Cereus!?!
Interesting nite, capped off by a peaceful stroll around some Nightblooming Cereus that bloom at nite then die by morning.
Animal Sculpture Blues
This not the first time I tried to shoot this sculpture at UH Manoa. First time I tried to get up close shots which didnt quite work. This time I tried to frame the whole thing but because the metal horns so long, seems like too much background. I realize now I should try zoom all the way out and shoot it. Well we’ll see if it works when I encounter this animal again…
My Favorite Autobot
Was trying to shoot dark red plumeria and seen this guy buzzing around these little red flowers with the white thing in middle.
Work View with a Dash of Self Portrait
New office. New view. Nicely sunlit but with a tint. Foolin around and liked how the office ceiling and lights merged with the sky. Then I noticed myself and thought, cool, my first self portrait..
Night Mural in Kakaako
My camera’s Twilight mode proved useful again, as I always thought this mural looked more epic at night. I wonder if its creators meant it to be so?
Someone Needs a Nap
Took many different pics today, different ideas, different lenses, but the cute, tired baby shot is too irresistible.
Spaceship
Whoa this building is bout to make the jump to hyperspace!
Ice Cream Photography
Age does not diminish the extreme disappointment of having a scoop of ice cream fall from the cone. ~Jim Fiebig
Cool-Warm
1st time purposely trying to shoot water. Harder than I thought. Unpredictable. Duh. Ended up just shooting from the hip and hoping for the best. Liked this one because the water seemed to catch some gold from the sunset. Relaxing.
I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost
Spook-Center Building from Ghostbusters, not in New York, but in downtown Honolulu. Who ya gonna call?
Twilight
Not the vampires, the mode on my camera that I been trying out for handheld shooting during twilight time. Seems cool albiet with an alarmingly high 6400 iso. 16mm, f4. Nitey.
Food Pic #4, Hamachi
Nuff said
So long, farewell..
..to, 11th floor diamond head makai corner view of FMB city building. From my little cubicle the past 4 years. Adieu pretty view.
Chicken Finger Lickin Good
Chicken-Feet, part of a healthy, well-balanced diet!
Kumbaya...
Was feeling a little musical. Then realized I was in need of both a tuning and a picture. Sing along now..
"What's the Opposite of White?"
Food Pic #2
Still unsure on how best to shoot food, but think this is better than food pic #1, the salsa-debacle. Hopefully learn how soon as this could very well devolve into a “what I ate today” thing.
"Yea, And It Was All Yellow.."
Liked the color, but otherwise unsure what I was trying to do with this one. Which is perhaps part of the problem…
Sing along, "if ur happy and u know it..
..flap ur wings!”
This huge moth seemed happy, just sitting there flapping its wings. Who wouldnt be happy if they knew how to fly? And thus surely find their way home…
Up Up and Away...
I guess this photo would fall into storytelling. The beginnings of one. And it’s a true story, I’m leaving one job for another, the road goes up, auspicously, and winds to left, mysteriously…
Artsy Crime
I like how street art can be beautiful by being distorted, say something yet be indecipherable, and above all, temporary and fleeting, depending on how efficient the maintenance workers are.
